As a beader we need to give undivided attention to the activity we are on and we tend to be severely disrupted by any interruptions. Why is this? While we are involved in the concentration of our artistic side the right hemisphere of the brain and the chemistry involved is activated. It is difficult while in the midst of this type of brain activity to flip back and forth from one activity to another.
The right hemisphere of the brain is responsible for emotions. It is the right hemisphere that controls music, art and kinesthetic abilities.
Left brain activity is responsible for logic and is detail-orientated.
An air-traffic controller, stockbroker, trader, accountant, lawyer, logistics organiser and a mother in full, all-antenna's-out-there mode are able to organise homework, the evening meal, watch the baby and know what the children are watching on TV and can still listen to the husbands day at the office, all-at-the-same-time as this is when the left brain is active.
But, next time you set yourself down to do that next special project, be aware of the environment that you need to have around you to let your right brain take precedence. This is YOUR TIME.
